Founder and CEO

Janice Emanuel McLean Ph.D, ND

​

Janice Emanuel McLean is the Founder and CEO of APC Community Services. She is currently a Professor at University of Phoenix, School of Advanced Studies;  Academic mentor at Andrews University in the Leadership Program and President of  Uzima Life Style Center.  She is a mentor, health and lifestyle coach. She is currently conducting Diabetes Prevention and Management classes in the community. She served the Seventh –day Adventist church for over 25 years in various capacities. She also worked at Cicitalli & Associates as the Coordinator of the AIDS Education Center. She served as Policy Analyst at the Haitian centers Council. Each year Dr Emanuel McLean leads a team of Doctors, Dentists, Nurses and other professionals on Medical Missions in different parts of the world.   June 14-29 she led a team of 34, Doctors, Dentist for Loma Linda University, Nurses and other Health Professionals on a Medical Mission to Ghana, where over 6,000 individuals received care. She has completed her requirements for the Naturopathic Doctors Degree in  2018 and has launched the Uzima Lifestyle Center in Kalamazoo Michigan. Her goal in life is to serve others and bring glory to God.

Naomi Modeste, DrPH

Dr. Naomi Modeste is a retired Professor Emeritus of Loma Linda University, School of Public Health, California, where she served for 25 Years in several capacities – directing a doctoral program, teaching, researching, mentoring doctoral and master’s students, and chairing the department of Health Promotion and Education for 6 years. She has an earned doctorate in Health education, is an author and researcher with over 70 articles published in peer reviewed and lay journals and a seminar presenter both nationally and internationally. She has experience in directing health education programs at various levels for over 18 years in the Caribbean and Latin American countries. Dr. Modeste has experience as a grant reviewer, health education program evaluator, and volunteers in professional organizations as well as local community organizations.

Board Chair

Dr. Yvonne Peters

Dr Peters has been teaching for the past 47 years. Her career began in the beautiful country of Guyana at the St. Aidan’s Anglican School. Her teaching experience spans various levels of education from Elementary School to University, some of the institution that benefited from her expertise in Guyana were: Tucville Government School, St Phillips and Queens College... In the United States St Marks Day School, Borough of Manhattan Community College, Jon Hus Moravian Church School, Brooklyn College and Medgar Evers. Dr Peters also served as an examiner for the Caribbean Examination Council, at present she is a certified ACT Reader. She also serves as Assistant Chief Borough Reader for the ACT Reading Examination.

 

Dr Peters is a Poet and a Writer, she is the co Author for a text book used in the CUNY system entitled Preparing for the CUNY-ACT Reading and Writing Test. She is the mother of four adult children Brian, Lester, Roger and Dionne, and grand mother of fourteen grand children. For Dr Peters teaching is her life passion and her goal is to help student realize their full potential and succeed in life. Dr Peters serves as the Secretary of the Board of Director of Academic professional Consulting Inc. She served for some time as secretary of APC Community Services.

Secretary  

Hildegarde Reimers

Hildegarde Reimers was born and raised in Port-au-Price, Haiti and migrated to the United States in 1982. She credits her drive to be an active and involved member of the community to her late mother, Marie Ange Puzo. From a very young age, she attended many community and health care events focusing on health disparities among women. She found her passion in public health when she began working at Kings County Hospital Center as an HIV Services Administrator. Ms. Reimers believes that by working in partnership with medical facilities and Community-Based Organizations, we can raise awareness on the health needs of the community, provide quality care and improve the health outcome of children, youth, adults and their families. She has worked for over 20 years with community based organizations and collaborated on numerous HIV/AIDS, mental health and chronic diseases awareness activities.

She is currently the Co-Managing Director of Quality and Value Based Initiatives at Brownsville Multi-Services Family Health Center (BMS). Prior to that, Ms. Reimers was the Sr. Associate Director of HIV Services at Kings County Hospital Center.

Ms. Reimers has been a resident of Queens for the past 35 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from The City University of New York, York College. Ms. Reimers has one son, Olivier Boigris.

Treasurer 

Claire Patterson-Monah

Claire Patterson-Monah was born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana. She is the current treasurer of APC Community Services Inc. Claire has served for years as the clerk of the cooperation, Trustee, Assistant Treasurer of St Albans Congregational Church UCC and Financial Director of Guyana Cultural Association of NY Inc. Claire is an accomplished transformative servant leader with over four decades of exemplar academic and professional accomplishments in the fields of Healthcare Administration and Food and Nutrition administration. She is dedicated to serving the Lord by volunteering and serving on several boards and committees in her community.
